After he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, "Put out into deep water and lower your nets for a catch." Simon said in reply, "Master, we have worked hard all night and have caught nothing, but at your command I will lower the nets." When they had done this, they caught a great number of fish and their nets were tearing. - Luke 5:4-6

Congratulations to Abbot Austin Murphy, OSB

For the past several years we at Moreau Seminary have been blessed to have Fr. Austin Murphy, OSB as one of our guest residents as he worked toward a Doctorate in Patristic Theology.  Always a pleasure to talk to and renown for his athletic talent, Fr. Austin and I often talked about our common childhood roots on Long Island and of course the Mets.  We just received word today that Fr. Austin was elected yesterday at the 10th Abbot of St. Procopius Abbey in Lisle, IL.  While his presence will most certainly be missed at Moreau, his talents will certainly  aid him as he takes on the leadership of his monastery.  Ad Multos Annos!
